APPRENTICE (Midsomer Norton Sports Centre)

Hours – 30 hours per week including evenings and weekends

Salary – £3.70 per hour contracted with overtime opportunities paid at £6.43

We are seeking an Apprentice to join us at Midsomer Norton Leisure Centre. Working within a team, you will be quick to learn new skills and must be able to use your initiative. All training is provided as part of the apprenticeship but you would need to be able to achieve the National Pool Lifeguard Qualification to proceed with the full role, completed via a voluntary Traineeship of roughly 100 hours.

Working a two week rota, the successful candidate will be friendly and have a customer focus, with a hands-on approach to work. The role is designed to help you understand and gain experience in the key roles of a leisure centre such as pool lifeguarding, reception, cleaning, the gym and more. By the end of the apprenticeship, our aim is to have someone with good qualifications and experience whom would be employable in various positions upon completion.

RECEPTIONIST (Midsomer Norton Sport Centre)

Salary – £6.43 – £8.12

Hours –  21 hrs p/w average across a 3 week rota as below:

Week 1

Monday 2 – 3pm (Staff Meeting)

Tuesday 3 – 9.30pm

Thursday 3 – 9.30pm

Saturday 9 – 5.30pm

Sunday 9.30 – 6.30pm

Week 2

Tuesday 3 – 9.30pm

Thursday 3 – 9.30pm

Friday 3 – 9.30pm

Week 3

We are seeking to recruit an outstanding Receptionist to join our operations team at Midsomer Norton Sports Centre.

Working a three week rota, the successful candidate will be the first line of communication for our customers and will be able to deliver outstanding customer service. Attention to detail and initiative will be key to meeting our high standard of professionalism. We’re looking for someone enthusiastic and positive who comes across in a happy, friendly manner. The role will require consistent training which is provided and involves working on computer systems, selling products and services as well as making and serving hot drinks.

Level 2 Food Hygiene for Catering would be desirable but not essential.

SWIM TEACHER (Midsomer Norton Sports Centre)

Hours – Permanent and flexible hours available ranging between 9 – 12pm and 2.30 – 6pm weekdays including weekend mornings such as Saturdays 8.30 – 10.30am

Hourly Rate – Level 1 @ £8.12 and Level 2 @ £13.26

We have regular and holiday cover hours for a Swim Instructors whom are qualified to a Level 1 and Level 2 standard with the ASA. Successful candidates must be passionate about learning to swim and have a focus on their own continued personal development. They will work within our busy learn to swim programme and must be able to work with all abilities, delivering popular and productive sessions. Previous experience of teaching is not essential, but must be willing to teach from the side and also in the water. TRAMPOLINE COACH (Writhlington Sports Centre)

Hours – Part time

Hourly Rate – £13.26

This is a fantastic opportunity to be a part of Writhlington Sports Centre ‘s extensive and professional  Trampoline Programme, where we are committed to seeing all our children develop and grow under the guidance of our professional  coaches.

The ideal candidate would need to demonstrate the following:-

Needs to have minimum Level 2 Trampoline Coach qualification

Available to work weekends and evenings

Ability to deal professionally and confidently with children and adults

Able to teach recreational and development Trampoline lessons

To be able to demonstrate experience of working alongside Assistant Coaches and Volunteers to deliver the programme’s aims

Salary – £12.48 per hour

Writhlington Leisure are looking for a CWA qualified,  enthusiastic, energetic instructor to run indoor climbing sessions at our Writhlington site.

We run courses for climbers aged five  to adult, and as such applicants must be comfortable working with groups and individuals across a wide age range. This vacancy would be for evenings and weekends and some holiday periods.

Essential Skills and Experience at least 6 months climbing experience. Excellent communication skills. Ability to work with flexible working patterns. Ability to work alone as well as with a team. Previous experience working within a similar role is desirable.
