RECREATION ASSISTANT (Midsomer Norton Sports Centre)

Hours – 34.5 hours per week including evenings and weekends with overtime opportunities

Salary – £6.43 – £8.12 per hour depending on age, experience and performance.

We are seeking a Recreation Assistant to join our operations team at Midsomer Norton Sports Centre. Working in a team, you will be quick to learn new skills and must be able to use your initiative. Ideally you will already hold an National Pool Lifeguard Qualification but if you do not, should at least have a reasonable strength in swimming so that we can supply training.

Working a three week rota, the successful candidate will be friendly and have a customer focus, with a hands-on approach to work. Lifeguarding the swimming pool, helping serve customers at reception and maintaining cleanliness would be the key areas of this role.

This position will be subject to an Enhanced Criminal Records Bureau check.

PART TIME RECEPTIONISTS (Writhlington Sports Centre)

Hours – Evenings and weekends

We are seeking to recruit part time Receptionists to join our operations team at Writhlington Sports Centre.  Working evenings and weekends, the successful candidates will be the first line of communication for our customers and will be able to deliver outstanding customer service.  Attention to detail and initiative will be key to meeting our high standard of professionalism. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic and positive, who comes across in a happy, friendly manner.  The role will require consistent training which is provided and involves working on computer systems and selling products and services,

SWIM TEACHER (Midsomer Norton Sports Centre)

Hours – Permanent and flexible hours available ranging between 9 – 12pm and 2.30 – 6pm weekdays including weekend mornings such as Saturdays 8.30 – 10.30am

Hourly Rate – Level 1 @ £8.12 and Level 2 @ £13.26

We have regular and holiday cover hours for a Swim Instructors whom are qualified to a Level 1 and Level 2 standard with the ASA. Successful candidates must be passionate about learning to swim and have a focus on their own continued personal development. They will work within our busy learn to swim programme and must be able to work with all abilities, delivering popular and productive sessions. Previous experience of teaching is not essential, but must be willing to teach from the side and also in the water. We welcome applications from candidates available to start immediately or with a notice period given.

TRAMPOLINE COACH (Writhlington Sports Centre)

Hours – Part time

Hourly Rate – £13.26

This is a fantastic opportunity to be a part of Writhlington Sports Centre ‘s extensive and professional  Trampoline Programme, where we are committed to seeing all our children develop and grow under the guidance of our professional  coaches.

The ideal candidate would need to demonstrate the following:-

Needs to have minimum Level 2 Trampoline Coach qualification

Available to work weekends and evenings

Ability to deal professionally and confidently with children and adults

Able to teach recreational and development Trampoline lessons

To be able to demonstrate experience of working alongside Assistant Coaches and Volunteers to deliver the programme’s aims

Salary – £12.48 per hour

Writhlington Leisure are looking for a CWA qualified,  enthusiastic, energetic instructor to run indoor climbing sessions at our Writhlington site.

We run courses for climbers aged five  to adult, and as such applicants must be comfortable working with groups and individuals across a wide age range. This vacancy would be for evenings and weekends and some holiday periods.

Essential Skills and Experience at least 6 months climbing experience. Excellent communication skills. Ability to work with flexible working patterns. Ability to work alone as well as with a team. Previous experience working within a similar role is desirable.
