We are seeking to recruit two outstanding Receptionists to join our operations team at Midsomer Norton Sports Centre.

Working a three week rota, the successful candidates will be the first line of communication for our customers and will be able to deliver outstanding customer service. Attention to detail and initiative will be key to meeting our high standard of professionalism. We’re looking for someone enthusiastic and positive who comes across in a happy, friendly manner. The role will require consistent training which is provided and involves working on computer systems, selling products and services as well as making and serving hot drinks.

Level 2 Food Hygiene for Catering would be desirable but not essential.

Position – Swim Teacher (Midsomer Norton site)

Hours – 16 to 26 hours per week depending on availability. Hours range between 9 – 12pm and 2.30 – 6pm weekdays including weekend mornings.

Hourly Rate – £13.13

We have a vacancy for a Swim Instructor whom is qualified to a Level 2 standard with the ASA. The successful candidate must be passionate about learning to swim and have a focus on their own continued personal development. They will work within our busy learn to swim programme and must be able to work with all abilities, delivering popular and productive sessions. Previous experience of teaching is essential and must be willing to teach from the side and also in the water. The opportunity to cover additional hours will infrequently be available in this role.

Position – Group Exercise Instructor (Writhlington site)

Salary – Competitive (to be discussed at interview)

We are looking for a dynamic Group Exercise Instructor who can provide leadership and manage a successful activity programme. The Group Exercise Instructor provides leadership while educating, monitoring, and encouraging class participants. Instructors assist members with equipment set up and help them with the class routines, creating a safe and fun group environment. The Group Exercise Instructor is team oriented, friendly, motivational, and outgoing. The Instructor is constantly checking each participant in the group to ensure safety and correct form.

The successful applicant will:

  •  Have experience of teaching group exercise classes.
  •  Hold a formal group fitness qualification
  •  Be focused and have the ability to demonstrate the highest levels of teaching.
  •  Be passionate about achieving class occupancy targets, building attendance and retaining customers on a week by week basis.
  •  Be flexible and willing to work as part of an Instructor team to deliver group exercise events – Have good timekeeping and excellent communication skills

Position – Gymnastics Coach (Writhlington site)

Hours – Part time

This is a fantastic opportunity to be a part of Writhlington Sports Centre’s extensive and professional  Gymnastics Programme, where we are committed to seeing all our gymnasts develop and grow under the guidance of our professional  coaches.

The ideal candidate would need to demonstrate the following:-

Needs to have minimum Level 2 Gymnastics qualification

Available to work weekends and evenings

Ability to deal professionally and confidently with children and adults

Able to teach recreational and development gymnastics lessons

To be able to demonstrate experience of working alongside Assistant Coaches and Volunteers to deliver the programme’s aims

Position – Fitness Instructor (Midsomer Norton site)

Hours –  Part-time, 19 hours per week across a 3 week rota including a weekend.

Hourly rate: £8.12 – £8.31 depending on experience and qualifications

We are looking for a confident and outgoing person who enjoys talking to and motivating others. This role will involve making our members feel welcome and at ease during every visit whilst motivating them and ensuring that they have an enjoyable workout. A desire to achieve our members individual goals by designing, reviewing and inducting fitness programmes is key within this role.  Minimum Level 2 Fitness Instructor qualification required.
